Album art revealed for 'Hesitation Marks'
Nine Inch Nails next album, Hesitation Marks, set for release on 3 September is now available for pre-order on nin.com and iTunes. The album will be available on several formats, including digital download, CD, and vinyl. Pre-orders will also get instant access to download the single Came back haunted, which premièred earlier today.
Along with the release of the first single, and the cover art for Hesitation Marks, comes an extensive list of North American tour dates for Tension 2013.
Now for a look at the Hesitation Marks cover art. My first thoughts were that it was reminiscent of the various artwork from The Downward Spiral era, which isn't a bad first impression considering the artist responsible for those artworks, Russell Mills, is also responsible for this piece.
I really like the choice of colours, and the overall presentation as it's a step away from the Year Zero/ The Slip artwork, suggesting this album is not set in the Year Zero storyline.
I don't like the look of the fragmented NIИ logo, as it doesn't fit in with the gritty texture of the background. Maybe it's not too late to make the logo layer slightly transparent, so that some of the imperfections of Russell Mills' excellent piece of work shows through.

First single off new Nine Inch Nails album
A week after the announcement that Nine Inch Nails has a new studio album to share with us, we now have news that we'll be able to listen to the first single off said album, tomorrow at 11:00 AM (PDT) on various radio stations right now! The single is entitled Came back haunted, and I'm hoping that the band will make it available as a free download shortly after we've heard it, like they did with Discipline back in 2008. The difference is, this time around, Nine Inch Nails are signed to a record label, so it's unlikely we'll be getting anything for free from them again for a while. More details at radio.com.
