Foo Fighters forever!

Foo Fighters have confirmed that their upcoming, eighth studio album will be called Sonic Highways. The album shares its title with the HBO documentary, directed by Dave Grohl which will detail the recording process of the album, as well as explore histories behind each of the eight studios visited during the creation of the album.

The cover for Sonic Highways (left) features landmarks from each of the eight cities the Foo Fighters recorded the album in, condensed into a single, inter-connected metropolis. The numeral '8' figures prominently in the centre of the artwork, as well as being hidden a further eight* times throughout the piece.

From the video below, it's evident that '8' not only signifies the eighth album, but is also used to represent infinity, or forever.

I haven't been this excited for a new album since the announcement of Queens of the Stone Age's '...Like Clockwork' last year. I'm already counting down the days until 10 November 2014!

* There could quite possibly be more hidden '8s,' but I stopped searching at eight.
