Batman: Arkham Knight - Trailer

After the relative disappointment* that was last years Batman: Arkham Origins, WB Games and DC Comics have teamed up once again for Batman: Arkham Knight. While the trailer looks pretty spectacular, I was a little perturbed about how soon after Origins it is being released, until I realised this is being developed by Rocksteady Studios. Thankfully Rocksteady Studios is the developer behind the first two titles, and not the last one. The cash-grab prequel was handled by another development team.

Batman: Arkham Knight is set for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Those of us still jamming on "last-gen" consoles will either have to save up for a new console, upgrade our PCs, or give this title a miss. I might just go for the latter, as I still have a healthy backlog of PS3 games to get through, and apart from Evolve, there are no "next-gen" titles enticing enough for me to fork out the cash and upgrade to a PS4.

Download first two parts of Batman: Arkham series for less than $5

While catching up on some gaming news over at Lazygamer this morning, I came across a post about a charity site called Humble Bundle. They sell game bundles through a 'pay what you want' scheme, were you can also choose where the money goes, either to the game developers, sponsored charities, or Humble Bundle itself. 

This iteration of the Humble Bundle contains four WB Games titles, that can be bought for as little as $1, however if you pay/ donate more than the average buyer, you'll get an additional two titles.

The four main titles are:

• Batman: Arkham Asylum (Game of the Year Edition)
• F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
• F.E.A.R. 3
• Lord of the Rings: War in the North

While those who donate more than the average, which is currently $4.62, will also receive:

• Scribblenauts Unlimited
• Batman: Arkham City (Game of the Year Edition)

So for less than $5, not only can you get a host of epic games to add to your backlog of games to play later, but you also get to support a worthy charity; in this case We Can Be Heroes.

If you're like me, and not an avid Steam user, then you can still show support for the cause by sending the Steam codes to someone else as a gift, or by purchasing some merchandise from the We Can Be Heroes store. Despite not being a huge fan of DC's superhero line-up, I do particularly like the looks of the grey shirt, and coffee mug. Maybe I should get one of these as a gift for my brother.

Batman: Arkham Origins - 10.25.2013

I'm not a big fan of DC Comics' list of super heroes, as I personally prefer Marvel's selection of anti-heroes. That said I have considered getting a Batman video game, more than any other licensed super hero game, simply due to the almost unanimous good reviews the Arkham series has received from reviewers. Batman: Arkham City has been on my radar in particular, as it is currently the third highest rated PS3 game released.

Now a full trailer for the Arkham series prequel, Batman: Arkham Origins, has been released, and it looks pretty good. Okay, so it's a cinematic trailer that doesn't feature any actual game play, but it still looks good. Besides it features Batman battling Deathstroke, who is essentially the character that inspired Marvel's character Deadpool, they even share the same surname.

Now the question is, do I wait for the release of Origins before playing Asylum and City, or do I just go ahead and play City?
